Cordi for Congress - Candidate California 15th Congressional District

The American People Want CHANGE

  • A slowing economy
  • Costs for food, fuel and health care spiraling out of control
  • A failing public education system
  • A growing energy crisis
  • A war distinguished by time and ambiguity – unlike any other we have fought --

What do our elected representatives do?

They hold hearings so that they can GIVE SPEECHES. They assign blame. Placing blame does not solve problems!

As a business person, I value expertise more than title --

As a business person, Ivalue action more than talk –

I pledge to you, NEVER to attend a hearing for the purpose of giving a speech to a witness!!! My business experience has taught me that problems are more often solved through listening than talking.

I am going to attend every hearing with a set of FACT- BASED, but respectful, QUESTIONS – researched by myself and my staff and including questions solicited from voters. The answers to the questions provided by “expert” witnesses should be the starting point for developing a plan of action.

As a business woman, I know the difference between spending money and investing for future returns. Programs once funded must demonstrate a return on investment or be discontinued.

As a business woman, I value staying engaged with my customers.

Citizens of the 15 th Congressional District, you are the customers. I will CONDUCT BI-WEEKLY Saturday morning VOTER FORUMS, at a variety of locations in the district. Panels of experts and citizens will help voters understand the issues pending in Congress and voters will help me understand how to represent them in Washington.

The 15 th California Congressional District is home to some of the most creative and entrepreneurial people in the world! Together I believe we can be a force for POSTIVE CHANGE IN AMERICA.

The American People Want CHANGE –

I believe POSTIVE CHANGE BEGINS WITH EACH CITIZEN –

  • In a free and democratic society, the role of government is limited to –
    • securing the nation
    • creating an atmosphere in which individual ingenuity, initiative and risk-taking creates jobs and encourages capital formation
    • protecting our natural resources for current and future generations
    • protecting the most vulnerable among us
  • In creating a limited form of government, our founding fathers made a simple assumption: every individual citizen would accept some responsibility for contributing to the common good every day in their everyday life. If each of the 300M people in the United States today did one small thing every day to:
      • reduce 5% of their energy usage
      • pro-actively manage their health
      • put $5.00 in their savings account
      • help for a half hour in their child’s classroom
      • reach out in friendship or kindness to one new person

the aggregate result would be significant, measurable, positive change in our economy, our culture and our security.
